for germans, "nine eleven" is today, because we write dates the other way around.
for me, the most important thing to remember on that day is the event that became symbolic for the persecution of jews in nazi germany and the shoah: the antisemitic pogroms in the whole country organized by the state on nov 9th 1938. never again!
